What this site does not do

Every tool on UtilX runs entirely in your browser using client-side JavaScript. Text you paste into the JSON formatter, regex tester, cron builder, password generator, Base64 tool, or color converter is never transmitted to our servers, stored, or logged. There is no account system and no server-side processing of your input.

Advertising and cookies

This site may display ads served by Google AdSense and/or other third-party advertising networks. These networks may use cookies, device identifiers, or similar technologies to serve ads based on your prior visits to this and other websites.

Light/dark theme preference

Your choice of light or dark theme is saved using your browser's built-in localStorage — a small storage area tied to this site that lives only on your own device. It is not a cookie, it is never transmitted to our servers or anyone else's, and no third party can read it. It's the same category of thing as your browser remembering your window size.

Analytics

This site uses a small analytics system we built and run ourselves — no third-party analytics company ever receives your visit data. It does not use cookies, and it does not store your IP address: your IP and browser type are combined with the current date and passed through a one-way cryptographic hash to distinguish a unique visit from a page refresh, then discarded. Only the resulting anonymous hash, the page you visited, and the referring site (if any) are stored. This cannot be used to identify or track you individually, and reports only aggregate traffic patterns such as total visits and which pages are popular.

Children's privacy

This site is not directed at children under 13 and does not knowingly collect personal information from children.

This policy may be updated periodically. Changes will be posted on this page with a revised "last updated" date.
